Product Development Pipeline
Hollis-Eden is developing a new class of small-molecule compounds that are natural metabolites or synthetic analogs of steroid hormones produced by the adrenal glands. Through its medicinal chemistry program, the Company has produced potent next-generation drug candidates which retain certain activities of first-generation parent compounds while conveying improved pharmaceutical properties. By first defining the chemical structure of a native hormone associated with a specific biological activity, and then applying the tools of medicinal chemistry, the Company has created or identified molecules that are orally bioavailable and resistant to metabolism, and thus potentially more potent and useful as pharmaceuticals.
